Andreu World Design Contest

This year, the design contest invites all designers from around the world to re-imagine chairs and tables that are then examined by teams of creative industry experts. This year’s awards include a first prize of 3,000 €uro and a second prize of 1,000 €uro. Additionally, the jury will select four projects for honorable mention. Over the 14 years of the contest there have been over 10,000 submissions from all continents.

In an effort to introduce new materials and promote innovative, sustainable and versatile design, the nineteenth edition of the competition is a special collaboration with Kvadrat. The designers are asked to use its upholstery catalogue in their submissions. Proposals may include a range of seating pieces from armchairs and lounge chairs to stools, benches and sofas.

The 2019 International Design Contest kicks off by presenting its image for this edition. The poster for this year’s awards is based on ideas and creativity as part of the creative process and as a prelude to any design. This is the starting point of the 19th edition of the International Design Awards, which every year recognizes the best seat and table designs and will include two prizes of 4,000 and 2,000 euros and four honorable mentions. The 14th Annual Andreu World International Design Contest is now open with submissions being accepted through December 1st. This competition brings together the best work from young and professional designers from around the world celebrating exceptional design.

Both students and professionals from the world of design can participate with the objective of creating a chair or table. In each of the pieces submitted, innovating contributions will be evaluated for design, quality, technology and the manufacturing process by a jury of design professionals.
